My Top 5 Machine Washable Items

If you knew me well, you’d know that I’m obsessed with my washer & dryer. James and I lived in a small apartment for 4 years with a mediocre stacked washer & dryer. So when we moved into our house and I was able to pick out my very own set I did all the research and got my dream machines! Before becoming a mother I would always say that this was the best ‘adult’ purchase we ever made! Now that I’m a mom, I’m even more in love. I mean, parenthood is pretty much doing laundry and a few other things right.

When I’m purchasing a product, machine washable is a make or break feature for me. I cannot hand wash things, I don’t have the time or the energy for all that jazz. Aside from the normal machine washable things like clothes, cloth diapers & stuffed animals, I have come up with my top 5 machine washable items! These are things that I was literally sold on as soon as I saw that beautiful “Machine Washable” tag, among other good qualities too.

1. Pello

This is one of those items I wish I had sooner. C loves his Pello! It’s the most cozy donut shaped floor pillow that is perfect for snuggles, reading, snacking and so many other things. And of course, its completely machine washable! Which is great because we take it outside and C has snacks in it all the time.

2. Lorena Canals Area Rug

Yes, a machine washable area rug. First, how amazing is that! Second, I adore these rugs. Not only are they gorgeous & soft but they’re completely machine washable. They are also handmade with 100% natural cotton too! I have 2 dogs and 2 cats and they shed on everything. Add a toddler into the mix and you have a recipe for messes. I would have never been brave enough to put a black rug down until I knew it could be washed. Whoever came up with these beauties seriously deserves an award because in my book all rugs should be washable.

3. Maxi Cosi Pria 85

I love this carseat. I did a TON of research like most parents when choosing a carseat for C. Maxi Cosi won me over with their safety, comfy design and ease of use. It was very easy to install and when I need to wash the cover, I can slip it off and leave the seat strapped in. Its very convenient. I also love convertible carseat’s, I really wanted something that was able to  grow with my child so I can get truly get my moneys worth out of it. This is a purchase I would make again in a heartbeat.

4. Pediped Sandals

You may remember me mentioning these in my Summer Essentials blog a few weeks ago. These are the Sahara Flex shoes from Pediped’s adventure line and we are loving them! C has gone from a new walker to a full on running toddler and these are perfect for him. They are waterproof, vegan and machine washable, in addition to super cute. They also stay on his feet very well because of the velcro strap.

5. DockATot Covers

We love love love our DockATot and it changed our whole world to finally get some sleep after getting one. You can read our whole sleep journey here. So just like sheets need to be changed and washed often, so does the DockATot cover. Thank goodness I can machine wash it too because I have no time for hand washing. It’s not recommended that you dry it in your dryer so I just hang it in the sun and it’s dry in no time. We have 2 covers for each DAT so they can be rotated while the other is being washed.

What are your top machine washable items? Anything I need to try out? Leave me a comment below!

Stride Rite sneakers wash well!! Even the light up ones!! I used to be scared of washing sneakers but a few years ago, my oldest, who likes to search for frogs, got a new pair of shoes completely caked in mud. I had no choice but to rinse them under the tap to get most of the mud off, and then threw them into the washer. They came out like new and now I never hesitate to wash sneakers, water shoes, and flip flops.
